Still struggling

Last night we stayed up till almost midnight wrapping the children's and other family members' presents. So my plan to get to bed early was foiled! We are spending time with family this evening, so wrapping is not possible. When I finally went to bed, within a half hour, the baby woke up. Then he tossed and turned and kept me half awake until about 3am. Then my alarm went off at 4 am. So, I hit the off button! I just couldn't get up.

At 5:30am I finally got up and started my time with the Lord 15 minutes later. I was able to get almost an hour in, but with no housework. The key here is that if I get up early enough, I can accomplish some food preps (see prov 31:15) and housework if possible before the children wake. I did get time with the Lord, but I feel I'm still not doing exactly what he is leading me to do. I'm not discouraged, only a little frustrated. I have not had a night like that since, well, since my second born son was an infant. My fourth little baby is usually an amazing sleeper. I think he's getting a tooth, so that's understandable, but still, I feel there's a battle going on here - and until just this minute, I didn't even think about praying for God's intervention.

So that's what I'll do. I know it's his will for me to wake in the "night watches" (psalm 63), so I will press on.
Tomorrow is another day. I'm praying that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

I think I have left a comment before on this issue of getting up early. I too have struggled with this as I have a 3mth old. Yesterday morning I was late getting up and had a million things to accomplish, but the Lord showed me Luke 10:38-42. The story of Martha and Mary. Martha was so busy running around she was missing time with God! Jesus tells her that Mary (who was resting, sitting at His feet) "hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her." God will bless you for taking time to "rest", "sit at His feet"! Psalm 138:8 says "The Lord will PERFECT that which concerneth me." I hope this gives you some encouragement and I hope I am making sense (I am not a very good at wrighting). Don't give up! God Bless you and your family :)

Why no, the 'Adversary' doesn't want us to get up early and seek his enemy. He will 'try you' for a while--then he will leave you alone. (He'll move on to somebody else who is just starting to get up early)
I felt flu-ish (today I've found that it's a kidney infection...got any natural remedies?) last night so I did change my alarm from 5 until 6. Thankfully, the kids slept in really well and I got a great prayer time in. They were worn out from the night's festivities.
Keep updating!
:o) Merry Christmas to you and yours!
